The Submission Project

Hey, I am having some technical difficulties that have stopped Project 17 like your momma was stopped when she tried to get into Studio 57. However, after being inspired by a friend, I am unveiling a new project, The Submission Project. Here is how it works: e-mail a picture to and I will post it with a haiku on Each e-mail must contain only one picture (repeat only one), each picture may only be submitted once per person, and if the picture is in sufficiently bad taste, it will be returned to the sender. (Feel free to test my boundaries on this, but as a general rule I won't include any pictures that, were I to publish a book containing such pictures, would ban it from a bookstore such as Borders).

And another

Diamonds Outside

When it’s cold outside
When the sky is grey
If you’re listening
You can hear him say

There are diamonds
diamonds outside.
Don’t you see the diamonds
diamonds outside?

When it’s cold and bleak
Is it really so?
Find the webs of dew
See the sun on snow

See the diamonds
diamonds outside
Don’t you see the diamonds
diamonds outside
The Wonders of this World

They shall see his face
and his name shall be on their foreheads.

Where have the wonders gone,
The wonders of this world?
Where are the gardens hanging in Babylon?
The fruit they longed for is gone from them.

The pyramids were stripped by Alexander
The great tombs of the pharaohs remain
From the seven
Protecting the husks of men
Preserved for eternal life.

Alexander renamed the city
Where a dusty lighthouse now
Would cast a shadow southwest
Pointing away from a new city
On a hill.

And the colossus of Rhodes was melted
After the bottom dropped out of the marketplace
Those who had no money were buying
Gold to pave the streets
Of a city they ware welcoming from a distance.

I Forgot What This Was Supposed to Mean, and There's No Title for a Clue

It's all derivitive.
It's all derivitive.
All of it.
And Yes you can take it.
Even you can take it.
Take it and take it and
"Can you take it still?"
Take it standing still?
Take it standing up?"
Standing up for yourself
and a select group of your friends.
Narrow it down.
Narrow it down to a point.
"I can see the point you are trying to make."
I can see your point.
I can see your points."
They are derivitive.
Derived from something.

A New Poem Written Specifically For Midwinter Tales

10,000 Horsepower Poetry Juggernaut

New, New, New, New (2x)

New New
It's hot off the presses
It's hot off the presses
It's hot off the page.

Lots and lots
of digital copiers
diligent copies
of digital waves.

New New
There's ink on my fingers
and ink on my paper
and ink on my shoe.

You and you
you'll both get a copy.
I promise your copy
will be of what's new.

What What
Oh, what are you saying
I can't really hear
what you're talking about.

If you speak
of two month old poetry
it's like you're selling me
two month old trout.

Turn Turn
It's now in season
like milk or like eggs
it goes bad in a week.

Thus Thus
It's hella important
and getting it done's
getting done as we speak.

New New
The ink on the pages
is now on my fingers
is burning my hands.

Don't Don't
don't stop the presses
for newspapers new
on their newspaper stands.

Try Try
Oh, just try to stop me
I can't really stop thee
if that's what you plan.

If If
but if you do stop me
I'll only be stopping
till I start again.

Book Arts

So I finally got back on Blogger and had to reset my password, etc. in the process. What fun... :-/

I am making books for my Book Arts class at Hampshire. This next one is a stab binding and I finally came to an idea that I liked for the content: all my sketched of my dream house. It will be a collection of sketches and thoughts about the functionality of a home and my ideal abode. I will post updates and photos soon.

New Content From Me

Hey, I'm not sure what the deal is, but the poems I posted before are getting extremely few comments (read none). I'm hesitent to post more before these have been dealt with. I understandthe excuse of busyness, but it's been more than enough time in my mind. Do you find that these are just not resonating with your experience of life? I'de like to know if these are just so obscure as to be incomprehensible. Sock it to me. I'm a big boy and I can take it.
